Report writing

the report is complete and we will hand it up by the next grace lesson on 29th of April. The team will take short break as to study for the SA1. after the SA1, we will quickly finish up the construction of the music card game and get ready the oral presentation. we hope to finish this soon and the whole team has to stand firm together to complete the entire GRACE project

9th week of grace reflection

We have already collected our data and have also received positive and excellent feedback from other people we surveyed on our project. We already have the materials needed for the product so we will continue our work from there. Currently we have no problems in working on this project together and hope that this project will go through smoothly without any problems in the future.

9th week of GRACE

We have collated the data for the survey and received positive feedback on the project. The materials needed for the survey have also been collected, thus we will proceed with the making of the product already. My group will also start on the group report and get a group file to file it. So far, there have been no problems with the work and we are running the whole project smoothly.

8th week of GRACE

This is the 8th week of the GRACE. We have completed the survey and I am going to print out 30 copies of the survey for our classmates to do it. After our classmates have completed the surveys, we will collate all the data and see if we should make changes to our plan or continue with our own plan. Ding ren is going to supply us with materials after we had collate all the data. Each of us have our own job to do in this project and currently our project is going very smooth and we have been getting good grades from our teacher and I hope that we will continue to keep up our good work.

8th week of GRACE

This is the 8th week of GRACE. We have already completed the survey and are going to photostack 30 copies for our classmates. Thereafter we will collate the data and see if we should progress as planned or make some changes to the game. We hope to complete it soon after all the materials have been supplied by my teammate Ding Ren. Each of us will be in charge of a part in making the product at home. We will then proceed with the oral presentation and our group report and file. So far, the progress has been good and we have been getting good grades from our teacher in charge so we hope to keep it up.

John Cage

John Cage is our theme for for working at our grace project. He was born in september 5 , 1912 to August 12, 1992 and he was an american composer. He had performed a music performance without playing any notes. The performance was merely 4 minutes and 33 seconds. He had also become on of the greatest controversial pioneers in the world.

Qinan Reflection

Last week for our grace project, we have discuss a lot and we have decided to change the topic something else as the topic on dengue fever does not have much to talk about so we change to something else which is to create a kind of tune and it is a very interesting game to play as it is specially design for the children. So for today’s lesson we have to discuss how to create interesting music and how to teach the children how to play the game. After this lesson we have lots of idea and it is very interesting and we hope our plan can carry out successfully

Ding Ren Reflection

This is my reflection on the Lesson 8. In the lesson 8, our teacher suggested that my group should change our theme for the project, as the current theme was quite difficult to do because the scientist had done the most researches on it. Our teacher gave us some choices and we decided to choose the musical card game. In order to make the musical card game, we had to do researches on the random music. I hope after changing our theme, we could score higher marks.

John Cage

Our theme's inspiration for the music game is taken from john cage. John Cage is perhaps best known for his 1952 composition 4′33″, the three movements of which are performed without a single note being played. A performance of 4′33″ can be perceived as including the sounds of the environment that the listeners hear while it is performed, rather than merely as four minutes and thirty three seconds of silence and became one of the most controversial compositions of the twentieth century.

our game is based on the rule of making random music with all the cards we have. after we have done the survey, we shall start the creation of the game.

Change of topic in our GRACE project

After looking at our project, Mr Verella said that our topic was not a good idea as that topic had been researched by people and there is nothing for us to write on ourselves so we cannot get good grades as we have no creativity. After discussing with our group members, we decided to change the topic to creating a music game. As our teacher is a music teacher, she can help us when we need and when we don't understand anything. The game rules are that players must grab the cards they want and whose cards that can compose a nice melody which had been voted by the players will win the game.

New idea for the GRACE project

As Mr Varella said our topic wasn’t a very ideal one, we decided to change the topic to creating a music game. The game will be like a snap game which players must be quick enough to grab the cards the want. Any musical instrument and the melody will play the cards that they have, which is the nicest (voted by the players). Players can discard the cards in their collection if they feel it isn’t suitable to what they want to play later on.

7th week of grace reflection

This is the 7th week of the grace project and we have completed the project planner which will help us in the future grace research. We each have tasks to do. My job is to research on how weather affects the spread of dengue to come out with a solution relating to weather.

7th week of GRACE

It is the 7th week of GRACE and we have completed the project planner, which will guide us through the remaining weeks of GRACE. We have collected the resources necessary like brochures, newspapers and Internet resources for the project. We will be beginning to think about the final product that will be what we will present. My group has come up with a few ideas on the final product like a video on how to stop dengue, a research paper containing all the ideas to stop the spread of dengue fever.

Ding Ren Reflection

The 3rd lesson of the GRACE was quite tiring, we had to choose the position of every team member. As for my team, I, DingRen had been chosen to become the questioner of the team, Raymond is the encourager which needs to encourage us every time, Qinan is the typer as he types the fastest in the team and Hanyu is the team leader. We discussed a lot about dengue fever in this lesson. Although the 3rd lesson is quite tiring but I enjoyed it very much. This is my reflection of the 3rd lesson.

3rd week grace reflection

This is the third week of the grace project and this is the reflection for what we have done. During the third week of the grace project, our group members have decided on the guiding question and a bit of research on the dengue mosquito which is still a threat to our daily lives. We think that everyone has a part to play in the society because if everyone does his or her own part, then he threat of the dengue to us would be lesser so that lesser people would be infected by this disease. As this type of mosquitoes breed in water, we suggested that we should inform the residents by either pasting a notice on the newspaper or at the void deck so that when they walk pass, they can see the notice and make precaution to the dengue mosquitoes. By this method , people would learn about the seriousness of this disease and take more care towards their family member and so that this disease would stop spreading.

Qinan's reflection

This is the third lesson of the grace project we have done. For this lesson my group had come out of some guiding question and the resources, which might be useful for us to do research. Before we carry out our researches I have lots of questions in my head like how are the mosquitoes dangerous to us and how it is breed and where it is breed. But after the research I have know all the answer to this question, for example the mosquitoes carries some kind of disease that is very dangerous for the human beings. And the mosquitoes are breed in the water and can be easily breed in the vase, fish tank and other places that can store water. So our group members had come out with lots of idea but the one I agree is to do a big poster and paste it below the flat. By doing this way a lot of people can know how to stop mosquitoes from breeding and how to kill them.

2nd GRACE REFLECTION

This is the 2nd week of GRACE and we have done a bit of research on the various ways AVA contains the dengue threat. Still we are continuing to find our own ways of containing the dengue fever. We hope to come up with it soon.

ding ren Reflection

My Reflection on the first two lessons of the GRACE project.
On the First Lesson, Our Teacher-In-Charge did not come because of the sec1 orientation but the relief teacher did teach us some things about the project. On the Second Lesson, Our Teacher finally came and go through everything that should have been taught in both lessons. She went through the power point slides which tells us what will us be doing in the future. At the end of the lesson, my classmates suggested to stay back after school to make up for the first lesson.

During the first week of the grace lesson, our teacher, Mrs Goh didn't come to school as she was in the orientation camp. During the second lesson, we chose our topic,which is the dengue outbreak. We all know that dengue fever is a very serious illness which can also kill a person with just fever. This diseases is spread by a very fatal mosquito,which is the Aedes mosquito. Although there is no effective way to clear out all of these deadly insects currently with  the advanced technology , but I hope that during this project work our group can come out with some brilliant ideas which may be very effective in clearing all these insects. These mosquito normally breed in waters so everybody can take a part to reduce the number of Aedes mosquito with just some simple action like clearing the waters in our vases. We hope that during this project work, we can spread to everybody about the seriousness of this disease and hope that lesser people will get this dangerous disease and die from it.

For the first GRACE lesson our group had chosen the title for the project. And it is about dengue fever. We have learnt that the fever is very dangerous it can kill people with just getting the fever. It is cause by some kind of insects call the dengue mosquitoes During the first period when people got the fever people were panic, as they did not know how to cure the fever. Now we can prevent the fever from stop the breeding process of the dengue mosquitoes. I think if we all corporate and we can stop the mosquitoes from breeding. But first we have to find out how the mosquitoes breeds and where it is breed, after searching through the Internets I had found out all the answer to these questions. Normally they are breed in the water. So we have to clean the water in our vases everyday and we have the pill in our upside down and we have to cover all the holes in our house as this places are the easiest places to led the mosquitoes to breed. Then we have to tell our family members to do this too as this can prevent the mosquitoes from breeding too. With all this helps I think we are able to prevent the mosquitoes from breeding so that lesser people will get the disease and die.

Grace Reflections

As this is my first time doing a project that requires 10 weeks, I'm very excited about it. Our group has chosen the topic(Weather effects on breeding mosquitoes and dengue outbreak). We chosen this topic as recent cases of increasing dengue patients has caught our group's interest. I know that dengue is a dangerous even fatal disease spread by the Aedes Mosquitoe but I don't know how to create an effective plan to totally wipe out the threat of dengue fever. Therefore i hope to be able to come up with a solution on how to tackle the problem of dengue outbreak through this project. To start the project, my team and i will first research on the various ways of how to tackle dengue fever.
